During a purchasing meeting this afternoon:

Planner: Well if we are getting a $10k bearing form a contracted supplier, and it's $7k from someone else, do we still have to buy it on contract?

Mill Manager (stepping up and cutting off the purchasing manager): In that case, you god damn well better buy the cheaper bearing! I don't mind standing up and trying to do the right thing and save money, because the rest of the time I'm trying to explain yall's fuck ups to my boss.

I love these meetings, although instead of corporate policy manuals, they need to hand out "Cliff's opinion manuals"

This guy is about 170 years old and never goes home he actually has a cot in his office and brings in groceries during outages.

If we have a PM go down at 3am, you better believe he's gonna be there pacing the operating floor looking for someones ass to chew on before you even get out of bed and head back in to work.
