I got in a rush and pulled the USB on my external hdd while a PowerPoint file was open on the machine. I thought... no biggie.... I might just lose that file. Well I put the hdd into another computer and tryed to open the file and couldn't. Anyway this is where it gets crazy bad. I tried to dismount the drive by using the "safely remove hardware icon" but it would never let me dismount. All programs were cut off. Anyway I pulled the USB again. When I replaced the usb back in the computer it won't pull up the drive and mount. I restarted. Still wouldn't mount. I tried a different computer. I tried a different external enclousure. No luck, I cannot get this thing to be seen on my computer or under computer management. WTF! I pull the drive out and place it directly on SATA instead of USB. THE BIOS was slow as crap and never found the drive so of course XP never saw it. Everyway I tried I cannot get my drive to mount. I've got backups but I need the recent data off this drive. What do ya'll think I need to do next.
Yes I'm expecting Fail pictures also.

It could just be the drive is corrupt, and you need to run the Disk Check (or some other tool) on it. 11/8/2008 1:11:41 AM |

If I can't see the drive in the bios or XP how can I run any disk checking programs? 11/8/2008 1:29:10 AM |
