I have waitlisted for a ma 241 class on Thursday. There was only one seat left to waitlist. I was in the tenth waitlisted position. On Friday I moved up to the nith. I still am on the ninth position. How can I ensure that I will get into this class. Is there anything that I can do to ensure me a seat in the specific section that I registered to be in. Thanks in advance.

nope, you've done all you can.

sometimes you can talk to a teacher and they'll be cool with you sitting in on the class and doing assignments in hopes that enough people will drop the class (which is likely in ma 241).

your best bet is to find another section though. that's the only sure thing.

Chances are with a class like MA 241, a lot of people will drop.

Even if you are on the waitlist...just go to the class. Give it a week and quite a few people will drop. I've gone to classes where I wasn't even listed and gotten in. Talk with the teacher and your adviser and you should be able to work something out.

More than enough people will drop, probably before the 1st day of classes, for you to get in. Then once classes start, like others have said, you will easily get in. Hell just talk to the professor the first day of class, and show up everyday and most will add you anyway if you show the initiative to learn and be responsible, specially for calc II, that half the university has to take.

seriously, if you get dropped from the waitlist w/o getting in the class, just go to the class anyway on the first day of class & talk to the prof, never had a problem getting in a class

^ yep. I've done the same thing many times and I have always gotten in. the prof just has to sign a paper for you to turn in. Especially in a required class they are pretty good about it.
