My Crown Vic's springs, or maybe some other suspension parts, make kind of a crunchy noise on cold mornings when I go over bumps. It doesn't do it when it's warmer than about 40 degrees. Is this normal or indicative of a problem?

did you replace your blinker fluid with a lower viscosity for cold weather?

totally the NGR valve

you have one that has a higher temp range than you need for raleigh

should get it changed asap to avoid costly suspension damage

i totally did a project on this in vibrations class

you'll need a spring stiffness around 100 kN/m and a damping coefficient of about 50 kn-s/m

what is the car's mass? what kinda sine wave do you ride on most often?

n00b. fixed it for you

as an interesting aside, the military qualifies ride quality as the vertical accelerations incurred on the driver at ~4.5Hz.

^i had the units right:

F=-c*v

F [=] kN

v [=] m/s

therefore: c [=] kN-s/m

i suggest you refresh yourself in vibrations, noob

you should inspect your pittman-arm for wear damage

Crunchy noise like creaky/crunchy? Or crunchy with no creak? Front, rear, left, right, or all of them?
