i'm guessing contacting USA T&F is a must, but who else do you contact? if its in a neighborhood do you contact HOA? City of Raleigh (to shut down the streets)?

perhaps just a 5K.

i have nothing against helping them with more money.. but perhaps other people need help too.

i really wanna do a 10K..but i wanna try to keep it in the neighborhood, and with a 10K there might be some repeating routes. oh well.

If you decide you want to do a run on Centennial Campus, call the Development office at 513-2498. They do quite a few 5k's for non-profit organizations. Good luck!
