came up to a little over $6k, or ~$185/month, which I can hack. Got all excited because it was a realistic dream; I didn't just select biggest and best of what was offered, only what I thought I'd use

-Intel® Core™ i7-965 Extreme - Level 2 (Factory O/C'd to 3.73GHz)
-6GB Tri-Channel DDR3 at 1066MHZ (3x2GB DIMM)
-SLi, Dual nVidia GeForce GTX280 1024MB
-750GB - SATA-II, 3GB/S, 7200RPM, 16MB Cache
-Single Drive: 16X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/double layer write capability
-24 inch 2408WFP Ultrasharp Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor
-Soundblaster X-Fi XtremeGamer (D), PCIe
-Dell 19-in-1 Media Card Reader with Bluetooth 2.0
-plus all the accessories, warranties, software and crap

went to apply for the line of credit but was denied. I have good credit, or so I thought...DAMN YOU FREDDIE MAC

So are you getting it? Because if so I'm very jealous. That computer won't be obsolete for at least 3 years.

you are seriously going to pay $6k for a computer? Are they hiring where you work?

Don't waste your money, especially with shitty dell parts. Build it yourself.

^que?

shitty dell parts? I've had Dell's for years (and my family) and not that many problems. Sure we had a few things go bad, like any manufacturer.
