waste a bunch of time and figure out his route

then park your car, wait for him to start jacking you up to reveal that you are in the car

repeat many times, cause time is money to him

heres a good one to start with:

Quote :
"
§ 20-219.2. Removal of unauthorized vehicles from private lots.

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person other than the owner or lessee of a privately owned or leased parking space to park a motor or other vehicle in such private parking space without the express permission of the owner or lessee of such space; provided, that such private parking lot be clearly designated as such by a sign no smaller than 24 inches by 24 inches prominently displayed at the entrance thereto and the parking spaces within the lot be clearly marked by signs setting forth the name of each individual lessee or owner; a vehicle parked in a privately owned parking space in violation of this section may be removed from such space upon the written request of the parking space owner or lessee to a place of storage and the registered owner of such motor vehicle shall become liable for removal and storage charges. Any person who removes a vehicle pursuant to this section shall not be held liable for damages for the removal of the vehicle to the owner, lienholder or other person legally entitled to the possession of the vehicle removed; however, any person who intentionally or negligently damages a vehicle in the removal of such vehicle, or intentionally or negligently inflicts injury upon any person in the removal of such vehicle, may be held liable for damages.

(b) Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be only fined not more than ten dollars ($10.00) in the discretion of the court.

(c) This section shall apply only to the Counties of Craven, Dare, Forsyth, Gaston, Guilford, New Hanover, Orange, Robeson, Wake, Wilson and to the Cities of Durham, Jacksonville, Charlotte and Fayetteville. (1969, cc. 173, 288; 1971, c. 986; 1973, c. 183; c. 981, s. 1; c. 1330, s. 36; 1975, c. 575; 1979, c. 380; 1979, 2nd Sess., c. 1119; 1981 (Reg. Sess., 1982), c. 1251, s. 3; 1989, c. 417, c. 644, s. 1; 1993, c. 539, s. 383; 1994, Ex. Sess., c. 24, s. 14(c).)

So wait, you were parked illegally and got towed and are now searching for some technicality which you can take to small claims court in hopes of getting your $150 fee back?

Perhaps you should just drop it and not park illegally any more. Others on here have tried to accomplish a similar feat and failed miserably. You may as well just save yourself the time.

Give up bro; if the tow truck driver or land owner wants to be a cock who will bend the rules just to tow you. Just ask Food Lion. Like saying that Wolfline Riders will be towed if not parked on the outside wall than using this as justification to tow any random car that just so happens to show up in your lot, even if they buy something from foodlion, if their car is not removed within a subjective time period.

sounds like you should research it for a few days to get your lot bill up. only to come to a dead end. you know how many people try this shit?

that should teach you the next time you want to be lazy and just park where ever.

^^^yes, i'm lookin for a technicality. I used to work in the signing dept at the NCDOT. All kinds of people would call in to find out info on signs and other bullshit things to try to get out of things like this. Basically, if the sign doesn't meet the requirements, then its not a sign and you have every right to play the dumbass card.

Here is another that could possibly work for other tow trucks:
Quote :
"
§ 20-101. Certain business vehicles to be marked.

(a) A motor vehicle that is subject to 49 C.F.R. Part 390, the federal motor carrier safety regulations, shall be marked as required by that Part.

(b) A motor vehicle that is not subject to 49 C.F.R. Part 390, has a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 10,000 pounds, but less than 26,001 pounds, and is used in intrastate commerce, and is not a farm vehicle, as further described in G.S. 20-118(c)(4), (c)(5), or (c)(12), shall have the name of the owner printed on the side of the vehicle in letters not less than three inches in height.

(c) A motor vehicle that is subject to regulation by the North Carolina Utilities Commission shall be marked as required by that Commission and as otherwise required by this section.
"

So from par B, if the tow truck doesn't have it's name printed in at least a 3in font, then it's technically not a commercial vehicle which means it cannot tow you.

I've read other stuff that states the tow company must notify you within 24 hours for in state vehicles, could be useful. Here is the link for that: http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/EnactedLegislation/Statutes/HTML/ByArticle/Chapter_20/Article_7A.html

I'm just gonna give it up, its only $100...
