I traded in my 03 Forester for an 09 yesterday (2.5X, non-turbocharged flat four, 5-speed manual, symmetrical AWD). It's pretty fucking sweet! The Ipod/MP3 auxiliary jack is in the center console which is really nice. I definitely feel like I'm driving a truck/SUV now, as opposed to the older design which was much more station wagon-esque. But it still drives like a car which is what I really like. The windows have their own frames so the cabin is much quieter. I read in a review about how the B pillars were redesigned to minimize your blind spots, and I had no idea what this meant at the time. After driving it, I'll say that checking your blind spots in the 09 Forester is awesome. No stretching your neck or turning your head way back to see on the other side of the seat belt, just a clear unobstructed view. It's also Sirius and XM ready, so you get to make the decision. I don't care about baseball and am much more interested in NHL/NFL games so it'll be Sirius for me. I did not opt for the premium package which was almost $3000 and would have included seat heaters, rear seats that tilt back, cupholders that fold out of the middle in the back row, radio controls on the steering wheel, and the biggest fucking moonroof I've ever seen. I swear four people could have been standing up through the moonroof it was that big. I can't remember if it had leather or not, I think the leather was only in the Limited. I'll let you know when I start getting it off-road. I look forward to the substantially larger tires. Oh and I almost forgot to mention, it is a significantly bigger vehicle all around. I had it next to the 03 I just traded in, and every dimension looks bigger and better, both in width and length, and definitely with the 4+ inches in height.
