So who all drove back to Raleigh from Charlotte/Greensboro etc today? I heard it took 5-6 hours during the day from Charlotte taking 85/40. Was a section closed or something?

49/64 took me 2.5 hours from 7-9:30.

raleigh -> wilmington, de via 64 -> 95 took right at 9 hours (~400 miles)

The worst part was Richmond to Washington, D.C. was over 5...

to put that into perspective, Thursday morning Wilmington, DE to rocky mount (360 miles) I made it in 4h53 minutes (my new record time )

basically I'm an idiot and expected it to be bad, but i still wanted to kill myself in the rain.

49/64 is ftw from charlotte to raleigh unless im south / south of charlotte then 85 is usually better...except on Holidays then if I was south charlotte id take 85 to 49 if I thought traffic was going to be bad

A lot of times coming from SC to raleigh like I do now, if its a thursday I take 85 all the way. If it is a friday ill take 85 in to NC and to 49 to stop in at my parent's house quick to say hey and then hop back on 49 (I grew up right off 49 in harrisburg). Usually about the same time if 85 has any traffic and and its an easy drive

Took me less than 3 hours. Very little traffic.

Then again, I left at 8 AM.
