Because that's what really matters when you're considering who you want to be delegating authority to when, if they screw up, it's your ass that ends up on the news. Nevermind the fact that the people she chose very well may have been the most qualified.

Sorry, but if a white person can perform a task better than a black person, any responsible boss will hire the white person.

That's not the point of questioning her appointments though, and you're probably racist to miss the point.

The questioning is to find out if she passed over a better qualified black guy for a lower qualified white guy, not to force her to pick unqualified people.

But, AFAIK, Perdue hasn't done anything to indicate she's racist, so the questioning was premature to begin with.
