i could have sworn that, at some point in this alias' history, you pretended to be a networking person

what does networking have to do with my mac not working and my pc connecting fine.

what does networking have to do with DHCP, teh intarweb, and the associated hardware?i guess nothing

what is your mac's MAC

is the MAC address required. i mean it should be pretty straight-forward. i go under system preferences and see "built-in ethernet" selected.

well hopefully it is different than your pc's MAC and as a result, since i imagine that you can only have one MAC address associated with your modem at a time, you will either need a consumer grade router or you can reset the modem when you want to change computers

i think i understand now, but i had no difficulties with the other provider i used. i own a DLINK modem DCM-202. its the same modem i've always used.

i see. after resetting the modem it will allow a computer change. how do i get it to support multiple mac addresses. this is going to be a pain.
