Despite all the late season goodness

We're still a 6-6 team

This is a season long honor, not a "What have you done for me lately"

Wilson was good and probably deserving, but this was definitely a down year for quarterbacks in the ACC as a whole

if Irving hadn't been out so many games he probably would have been first team. I have a feeling Paschal got a lot of pity votes due to his "career ending" injury, even though his career was basically over anyway.

agree. Irving, Graham and Young should have been second team at least. Irving would have been first team if he wasn't hurt so much.

I bet if RW hadnt been amazing the last 4 games, Irving would have made 1st or 2nd team all ACC. He was our "media posterchild" before RW showed up recently.... They always have at least one player from each team in 1st or 2nd....

What!?! No Marvin Austin! This is an outrage! He was the top rated high school player in the country when he came to UNC and had some of the best man boobs I've ever seen. This list is a joke.

Guesses on his rating in NCAA next year ?

I'm thinking maybe 86 overall, with 84 speed and 88-90 accuracy but low 80's arm strengh

Irving missed games, not surprised he didn't make first team but I expected at least 2nd.

Willie Young just showed up the 2nd half, not surprised he didn't make it but glad to see he got honorable mention.

But TJ Graham got jipped. Miami literally spent the whole game kicking away from him like he was Devin Hester. He ran back a TD and he broke our record for KR in a season. I could understand Tate because he is an amazing KR, but he didn't make it either.

Paschal also had 30 more tackles than Nate and only 2 less interceptions. Yes, if Nate had played all year he would have been all-ACC.

But when you look at the numbers for all of those honorable mentions, it's pretty clear why they didn't get all-ACC. http://www.theacc.com/sports/m-footbl/stats/2008-2009/confldrs.html#conf.wi2

Low 80s arm strength? He has a cannon...

Michael Ray Garvin averaged 32.8 yards/kick return with a tuchdown. CJ Spiller averaged 27.9 yards/kick return with a touchdown and was also the number 3 punt returner.

TJ Graham only averaged 24.8 yards/kick return with only 1 touchdown in twice the amount of returns. He's not in the top 7 punt returners either.

If they only counted ACC games for All-ACC selections we would have a lot more.

Seems pretty accurate. You're showing your bias if you think we should have had anybody else on those 1st or 2nd teams.

The fuck is the deal with you?

First hating on Rivers and now hating because people want Nate fucking Irving to get at least 2nd team All-ACC?

^^seriously...Irving only missed what, 1 or 2 more games than Wilson? Irving was the only bright spot in the first couple weeks of the season, and made some huge plays towards the end of the year too...he will be playing on Sundays eventually, its no stretch to say he should've made 2nd team, although I guess it must have been the games played/missed that kept him out

Chill the fuck out and get your panties out of a wad.

Nate Irving is probably one of the best linebackers in the ACC...but unfortunately he missed almost half the season. His stats don't compare to the ones of the guys who made 1st and 2nd team...sorry, but that's the truth. If it makes you feel any better...Brandon Tate shouldn't be on there either.

And I'm not hating on Rivers...I just get tired of our fans' bias. For some reason its getting on my nerves now more than it ever has.
