I'm in need of a USB extension or repeater cable to connect to a hub. The computer is in the other room, and a 15' or 16' cable ought to do it. Does anyone here have experience with this: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030304&p_id=2779&seq=1&format=2? It says not compatible with Vista x64, but one of the reviewers says his works fine. This is a concern for me, as I'm running x64. I'm just planning on having a keyboard and mouse connected to it, and from time to time a USB flash drive.
OR, should I just pick up an extension cable and not worry about it?
Also recommend a hub, 4 ports is plenty, pref usb2.0. I'd appreciate it! 12/4/2008 6:21:14 PM |

^? Computer is in the other room, I'm getting a 25' DVI cable to connect the monitor in my bedroom, and I need a USB Extension or Repeater to connect to a USB Hub to hook up a mouse and keyboard to go with the monitor. 12/4/2008 7:41:42 PM |

For 15 feet, you should be fine with a simple extension cable. Especially if you're going to a powered hub. 12/4/2008 7:49:54 PM |

whatever cheapest powered hub you can find. They're pretty much all the same. The only thing to look for is make sure you get a powered one. 12/4/2008 8:44:08 PM |
