I need to control two computers and they have their own separate monitors.

DVI would be nice in the future, but it's not really necessary as of yet.

I've seen the software implementations, but those are unnecessary at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated.

what do you mean unnecessary? i take it you're referring to synergy, that you've looked at, right? sounds perfect for the job

yeah, synergy sounds perfect in this situation, in fact, this is what it was written for - it's what i use at work to do the exact same thing with 3 monitors

as long as you can secure it, synergy is great

I see what you did there, but the thing is that I don't have a pressing need to keep both computers on at the same time. Keeping them on, just to install synergy server is silly IMO. I don't know which computer I need on at any one time.

last time I needed one I just ran out to tiger direct

I have a couple I don't use anymore, I'll take a look at them tomorrow
