Shit. I've got all the symptoms of this bad boy. Pain and swelling in the groin area and one of my balls is kind of tender. As a kicker I've got a goddamn Intellectual Property Law exam at 9:30am tomorrow. Do I need to go to the doc before/during my exam or can I get this looked at tomorrow afternoon?

Just Fap and it will go away.
12/7/2008 9:31:37 PM
email your professor

I, too, find varied reasons to talk about my junk on TWW
12/7/2008 9:31:48 PM
Are you sure that it is a hernia and not a twisted testicle?A twisted testicle is a dangerous condition that cannot be put off.
12/7/2008 9:32:21 PM
that would be a great excuse to get out of the examjust email the professor a before and after picture of your bawls^ if it was that, he would have posted that it felt like getting kicked in the nuts every few seconds

i want to write the damn exam. get it over with.I'm just concerned about my health in the interim.
12/7/2008 9:33:08 PM
at least it's not a bloody penis.
12/7/2008 10:18:38 PM
def not testicular torsion. wouldn't be able to type if that were the case.i've had an inguinal hernia for about a year and a half. it's something i'll one day get fixed, but for now is not nearly enough of a bother to need surgery for. they come in varying degrees.if it's bothering you enough to consider med attention before going about daily life, i'd recommend getting checked out. if it becomes strangled, you've got a serious problem.

hernias can be fine (but painful) for like 2897692 yearsand then all of a sudden be like OMG HAI IM GONNA LIKE GO CRAZY NOWit's something you may want to get looked at at your earliest convenience.
12/7/2008 10:55:28 PM
i had an inguinal hernia before.it was in my abdomen wall and when I would stand up, my guts would slide out through the hole.It was completely painless; however, I was told that they can result in gangrene (sp?) if the guts don't slide back in when you lay down.It doesn't sound like a hernia and Patent Law sounds like an elective. Take some Motrin and see the doc after the exam.[Edited on December 7, 2008 at 10:58 PM. Reason : dubya]

if my current level of pain stays the same then i'm gonna write the exam and then head to the doc.
12/7/2008 11:02:02 PM
^that's what i'd do. missing an exam is too much of a hassle.
12/7/2008 11:03:10 PM
Just make sure that you go to the doctor. We had a friend who had some trouble with his testicles and it ended up being cancer.
12/7/2008 11:03:35 PM
i kinda feel your pain, boltexcept maybe not as medically urgenti went to the doctor today. i have fluid in my ears from a viral infection. and it hurts like a bitch. and i wanted them to get it out but i'm supposed to "wait and see" if it goes away on its own in the next few days before they do anythingand i too have an exam at 9am. evidence. shoot me now. all i wanted to was to be able to hear and move my head without wanting to die, but...no lucksee a dr tomorrow after your exam.
12/7/2008 11:08:00 PM
^ evidence . . . good luck. I put that off until next year. This is my last exam of the semester. I was planning on celebrating after my exam but now I'm looking at a dr's appointment. shoot me now indeed.Second year has been hell so far. What year are you in?
12/7/2008 11:12:21 PM
ME TOO (my last exam too) and i'm dying no way to celebrate after unless i stab my own eardrums to pieces2ndit hasn't been as bad as the first..........until finals. finals have been worse. i've walked out of all of mine so far with little to no idea about what just happened.
12/7/2008 11:15:44 PM
^well, best of luck tomorrow. it's gonna be sweet to be done tomorrow either way.I'm off to bed shortly. I'll update this thread tomorrow after a visit with the doc and share the diagnosis with everyone.

I have chronic problems with fluid in my ears. Even prescription meds sometimes do not clear it up or take a long time.In the mean time, take some OTC decongestant or anti inflammatory, drink lots of fluid, and chew gum.

I also sometimes get a swelling around the groin area.

oh we up and ready to go! exam in 2.5 hours. pain in the groin still there.on a scale of 1-10, we're talking 1 at most if I'm just sitting doing nothing. If I press on the area in my lower abdomen it's a bit swollen and painful to the touch. At most, when pressing we're talking 2 or 3. a bit tender but that's 'bout it.anyhow, I'm off to write this beeyatch in a bit and then we'll head to the doc.
12/8/2008 6:00:43 AM
I've had one for a year and half also. The pain is manageable, it's worse on some days than others. Like others have said, as long as you aren't getting strangulation of your guts, you'll be okay.
12/8/2008 7:20:24 AM
good luck boltit most be a law school curse going around right now. I have a commercial arbitration exam tomorrow and now my tonsils are infected.
12/8/2008 11:04:40 AM
12/8/2008 11:05:50 AM
Exam: meh. if I had to guess I'll probably get a B. Some of what I did, I liked. Some of it was just okay. And on a couple parts I should have done better. Closed book exams ain't that easy. Doctor's Appointment: Doc said no hernia. Not yet anyway. Maybe a muscle strain. Hope he's right. In sum: I'm halfway through law school and I have the next 3.5 weeks off. good shit.
12/8/2008 1:24:29 PM
Rub some dirt on it, take 2 advil, and call me in the morning.
