I never knew this place existed in MIssion valley until recently, and i've been around here for a few years.

why don't people talk about this place more? they have good food for the $$$ i think (had cuban sandwich there), and i heard they didn't use to take credit/debit cards, but they do now.

And as of your thread, they didn't seem to accept credit cards.

Pretty good gyros, better than that new Greek place on Western, at least. I really like their fries, too. The only thing I dislike is the wait.

It's been there for a while now, probably close to 10 years. When I worked in cargo at RDU Airport my Junior year at NCSU, they used to get their shipments of hot dogs and chili from Detroit. Daniel (the owner) would come up there like once a week to pick them up. He always let us eat for free.

longer.
I went there regularly my freshman year in 1997-98, and it was already pretty established by then.

You could go there during lunch in 1999-2002 and see Amato, Herb and other NCSU coaches, like Rollie Geiger from the XC team.

went back today for the first time in 5 years - just as good as I remember it!!

I noticed that today, and there were also several older guys in suits that walked in and handed the cashier an envelope...

But, they've been there 21 years according to the signs in their store.

Truth. I used to see Herb and his kids in there all the time. That was probably circa 2000.

on a side note, anyone here old enough to remember Corchiani's?

I still wear my 10 year old Corchiani's shirt. Here, I took a picture of it

And I am not sure exactly when they closed down, but I know it was before I graduated. And I graduated in 2000. I am pretty sure that Ruckus took their spot, so figure out when Ruckus opened and you will know about when Corchiani's closed.

^OMG, Big Bad Wolf.....now that brings back memories. That and Colorado's. 2 best places for underage drinking in Raleigh
