It's more likely a plane about to land at one of the western airports. The picture looks like about a 20-30 second exposure. You can barely make out the even strobe flashes leading up to where the landing lights were turned on near the end.

Great panorama, though.

Either way, still a pretty awesome shot. Also, set to my background. I wish I had a wider screen - or an option that would letterbox that for me. I might work on that tomorrow... I'm at 1680x1050.

To me this is a decent pano, but could greatly benefit from some tips.

First would seem to be lens choice. There are an insane number of arms on the hotspots - indicating a lens with unsuitable aperture for pano's. I count around 20. Definitely not a pano lens, just something patched together.

Second would be 15 minutes in photoshop. See below.

Props still given for a great outcome!

crop it down... it's like 50" at full res...

In print, however, it's a might bit smaller

well, i don't know how most of them are set up, but on mine i can set a background image for each monitor. So you could just cut it into two pictures and put them up.

No. First I removed the parallax from the poor lens, adjusted for distortion caused by the height, rotated the horizon to something more pleasing, color corrected, sharpened, then cropped.

You notice it most on the tower (it's now straight) and the building to the right, and the horizon. Look closer and you'll see that all of the buildings now stand almost straight instead of leaning in a circular pattern from lens center...
