Despite being an engineering major, Dr. Bonham's HI 341 (history of technology) class was the most interesting course i've taken at NC State, if anyone is looking for a history requisite, I highly recommend taking her class, she's awesome. 12/13/2008 4:46:26 AM |

I didn't like her tests, I thought they overly specific for a course that covers so much ground. Suffice it to say, I thought the class was ok just didn't like how she tested.
I took this course the semester after taking design history, so it was really cool seeing the parallels. 12/13/2008 10:21:07 AM |

just a 3 page double spaced that you have to right a week before every test... it counts as part of your test grade, a 10 page research paper that you have a group to work on it, and a 5 page double spaced for the final 12/14/2008 11:43:20 PM |

truth. you will be tested on a dozen obscure facts per question and only get credit if you know all of them.
she also had the wrong exam date shown on the syllabus for the entire semester. when my friend read the real exam date on registrar (during dead week), he emailed her, and she pushed forward the exam AND the associated essay 2 days: meaning that you had two fewer days to study and write a paper. yea, great.
other than that, it was pretty good.12/15/2008 8:14:47 AM |

I took this class with her. Thought it was a good idea because it was one night a week, so I had no class on Fridays. LONGEST TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE.
And I don't like tests where the multiple choice looks like:
1. Question?
a. choice b. choice c. choice d. a +b e. a + c f. b + c g. a, b, + c
RIDICULOUS. 12/15/2008 9:11:50 AM |

Took this class this semester. It was alright. I agree with many of the criticisms presented thus far, though. But overall the material was pretty interesting. 12/19/2008 8:19:14 PM |

I honestly didn't do the assigned reading for the class. I glanced over it for the tests. Her lectures are VERY important. Show up, take good notes (write down everything, lol. figure out shorthand or something.)... her tests are taken directly from the lecture... you should make an A. The class is interesting and she's enthusiastic about teaching. Which really helps, when class is 2 hours long. 12/20/2008 5:15:09 PM |

^^^I too never did the readings. Mostly because I was too lazy. 99% of the time she'd go over what was in the reading anyway, at least anything that would be on the tests. So yeah, definitely pay attention during the lectures. 12/20/2008 9:08:48 PM |

the only thing I ever needed the readings for was to do her pop quizzes... but I never did the readings and just wrote a bunch of BS and usually got half credit. 12/20/2008 10:00:42 PM |
