I can just use a self-tapping screw and screw a new ground into the chasis of the car?

I'm an idiot

Are there any recommended spots to do this?

can't use an existing bolt? extend some wire? what are you trying to do?

I'm not sure how well a self-tapping screw would work. I'd use a real tap.
