Some people believe in fate and that we have no choice in what we do. Some god has a plan and we will end up doing his or her will eventually.

I have a way to test this.

Everybody who believes this should stick a .45 in their mouth, aim up at the brains, and pull the trigger. This satisfies God's will in two ways. If your 'fate' was to die by gun suicide, you have fufilled his plan. If your fate isn't to die by gun suicide (or even if you have to do something else beforehand) then you will not die. The gun will misfire or something will happen to prevent your death.

The rest of us just keep on livin

Wouldn't this be a theory on fate?
Fate does not require God. Nor does belief in God imply belief in fate.
This type of poorly thought out idea is a prime example of why Froshkiller wrote that rant.

You don't test "fate" by doing something that you would never do but are only doing it to "test fate."

Either way...stupid fucking idea.

Religious folks will argue that fate is the path that God provides you. It is still up to the individual to make the proper decisions to follow said path.

the bible also says that you both have free will and do not have free will.

That's a weak argument though because for something to be 'fate' it has to happen no matter what. There is a big difference between fate and a plan.

Nah, most religious people look at God the same way. Unknowingly, they make God out to be the same thing as that crazy clown looking guy in the Saw movies. He puts you in crazy fucking life changing situations, just to see if you can get out of them without killing yourself. He does this purely for his own enjoyment, but it can be spun to seem like it is teaching you lessons that will make you a better person.

"Matthew 3:12:31 - And god said, let the discussion of religious topics be left to Soap Box on the wolf web, when said web is in use. Blessed is the man who breaks for fatties."

Well I mean people who would argue that simply dont know the definition of fate.

Fate is something that is going to happen, no matter what you do.

fate /fe?t/ [feyt]
noun, verb
–noun 1. something that unavoidably befalls a person; fortune; lot: It is always his fate to be left behind.
2. the universal principle or ultimate agency by which the order of things is presumably prescribed; the decreed cause of events; time: Fate decreed that they would never meet again.
3. that which is inevitably predetermined; destiny: Death is our ineluctable fate.
4. a prophetic declaration of what must be: The oracle pronounced their fate.
5. death, destruction, or ruin.
6. the Fates, Classical Mythology. the three goddesses of destiny, known to the Greeks as the Moerae and to the Romans as the Parcae.
–verb (used with object) 7. to predetermine, as by the decree of fate; destine (used in the passive): a person who was fated to be the savior of the country.
