since some are plants, saying that eukaryotes aren't plants isn't true, and implies that no eukaryotes are plants. Had he said "all eukaryotes aren't plants", however...

OK, that was funny, but for the real answer....you can kill yeast in several different ways.

1. Remove their food source. Yeasts thrive on various sugar compounds, so if said sugar substrate is not available, they will die off

2. Yeasts cannot grow anaerobically, so depriving the yeast of oxygen will also kill them

3. Exposure to highly acidic or highly basic environments will kill yeast.

4. Most yeast will die at or slightly above 122 degrees F, and all yeast will disintegrate at 221 degrees F. Most yeasts, however, can survive freezing.

5. Various antibiotics can also be used to kill yeast, but it all depends on the specific yeast species.
