I'm going to be in Orlando, Florida for the next few days, anything I just can't miss while I'm there?

Aside from the resorts and some aviation attractions, the entire area is pretty craptastic.

Decent place to visit

I couldn't imagine why people choose to live there other than cheap land I guess

Almost your entire state is surrounded by water and you choose to live in the one landlocked city

Spent a week there for a conference last May. The hotel was the WYNDHAM resort on I-Drive right in the middle of all the touristy stuff.

Other than go to Universal or Disneyworld, there wasn't much to do there outside of the resort we stayed at, despite being in the middle of all the attractions. Nights were spent drinking at the pool and the hot tub w/ friends. I got to witness firsthand a bank robbery when I was out for lunch one day, which was pretty badass.

The funny thing about Orlando is that I loved going there as a kid but now as an adult I will never go back. My time spent there only made me more grateful to be living in a nice city like Raleigh.

I feel like I've given this response before....

PR's Taco Palace is some great Mexican. Get the Fundido.

Club 23 is a nice upscale bar with some excellent talent walking around. Get into the private Oak Room to see some professional athletes or celebs.

Latitudes is sweet bar with a third level that is open air.

The Red Fox Lounge is good for a few laughs and drinks.

Mako's is a crazy ass place that can be fun if you are into loud noises, girls dancing on bars/stages, and pop music.

Basically, all the nightlife is in Downtown, most of the good food too. Steer clear of the Mall and the Mouse.

Just go to Disney World. Or Universal. Or drive down to Kennedy Space Center and take a tour.
