Sucks for Trevor, hope he can get healed up quick.

Despite what some people on here will say about him, he plays hard every minute he is in the game, and we need someone like that on the floor.

"RALEIGH, N.C. -- North Carolina State guard Trevor Ferguson will miss at least three weeks after breaking a finger on his non-shooting hand.

Team officials said Tuesday the redshirt junior could be out up to six weeks. He broke the ring finger on his left hand during the Wolfpack's 68-65 loss to Marquette on Monday night.

Ferguson made four straight starts at shooting guard after coming off the bench during the opening five games. He averages nearly eight points and is shooting 41.5 percent from 3-point range."

haha well now we've got something else to blame the season on, like degand last year

not sure how effective Ferg will be coming back in after all that time, that could be a good chunk of the season depending on how slow it heals and what he'll be allowed to do to practice in the meantime

don't really know what happened. He was in there on the last play though so he must not have realized it until after the game.

but never saw anything where he might have got hurt

It sounds like a fracture that's not that serious and might never require surgery. A non-displaced fracture, which Ferguson has, does not come out of alignment. It could be a very small fracture that Ferguson could have easily ignored with all the adrenaline pumping.

he's been playing really well this year. his three ball is much improved and just a better all-around player. he still gets beat off the dribble by most of the people he guards but he just doesn't have the speed for his position.

I saw him shaking off his hand after he missed the last 3 pointer that he took in the game ... cant remember what time it was ... but you could tell that he was bothered by it, and that last shot didnt look that good, even though he had a good look at it and was in good position to make it.

So can we switch Fells back to SG and Costner back to the 3 and put Tracy Smith at the 4-spot? That would at least put our best 5 guys on the floor and help our rebounding, which has been our bane for a decade.

^I agree. And if we are getting beat by footspeed at the 3, then bring someone like johnny thomas in and move fells over.

So who's going to be picking up ferg's 31 minutes? Williams (ha, gopack still has him a forward)? Thomas?

(btw, Who is Kevin Jones? I just saw him on the gopack roster, hadn't heard of him before.)

Yeah as much as people make fun of Ferg (me included), he's stepped up his game this season.

Although I'm not happy that he's been the one getting the most minutes, We will miss him. Hopefully he's out the low end of the estimate.

41.5% from 3 is pretty good.

I expect Williams to probably pick up most of his minutes. Mays might get more minutes at the 2 as well.

I just looked at his picture (and it's holmes by the way not jones) and this kid plays at Carmichael all the time and has a dirty 3 point shot

Several of us said McCauley, Costner, Smith, Fells, PG was our best lineup all season. Hopefully we go to that now. It would be a slow-ass lineup but its not like we run anyway.

if that walk on can actually shoot and is athletic enough to get open, then he could be worth something

Anybody heard anything about him being academically ineligible for the second half of the season? The UNC boards have some something along the lines of this.
