a large majority receive some type of aid, whether it is need-based or non need-based

FAFSA screws me over every year

^i don't see how they get the number that they get... it was like a quarter of my parents combined income... and considering their cost of attendance figures, i don't get shit besides my 2 measly scholarships and a stafford loan because my "TOTAL NEED" is 0.

as long as your parents have a debt to pay (mortgage, CCs, car) it pretty much always cancels out the income. Doesn't really matter if you are rich because the rich tend to have higher mortgages and expenses so it works out about the same.
