Like Ambrosia said, never ever loan to friends - if they ask you for a loan and they need it then just give it to them. Money has a way of destroying even the closest of bonds. If you loan to even your closest friend, no matter who you are, you will start judging their every expense and action until they pay you back and inevitably it will destroy what you had.
