Did you know...

You don't have to give/get pin numbers for people if they are already in your address book?

simply invite them and you are good to go.

I use it but I really don't see much of a difference between it and AIM.

I use googletalk on my BB much more than messenger. Everyone in my office has googletalk, though.

I've got an 8830 and I love the damn thing.

The best thing of all is the little $5.99 add on and adapter I purchased from Alltel that allows me to plug my blackberry into my laptop and get teh internetz where ever I am is a godsend.

Seriously. That's one of my favorite things on earth.

I love it.

Advantages:

- Free messaging, if you don't have unlimited text (not a problem I have)
- Much faster than texting/emailing

And you don't need to share pins. Just invite from your address book

It is no different than AIM (it is an IM program). But BB's (at least mine) don't have AIM. It has googletalk, but I don't use it/know anyone that does.

I have AIM on my BB, but I also have google talk. BB Messenger is just so fun.

Well for me the Blackberry is the best device. I checked out the HTC and I don't like the windows format on it. I like being able to have my email when it comes in, which sometimes is totally important for me.

Speed is not bad. I'm not going to lie and say it's like being at work, but it's fast enough that I'm not complaining.

Basically, it's as fast as web browsing via your BB. Pages take a little longer to load, but it's very useful.

I wonder if AIM is service dependent. Anyone on Alltel have AIM (other than paying for the add-on). I have yahoo messenger too

The advantages that I like about BB messenger is that it replaces the fact that BB doesn't ahve threaded SMS, and you can see when you message is delivered and read. I made a post in tech talk but I guess we can talk about it here. What apps is everyone running?

It's nice to not have to set your phone to check your email.

I could have sent and received 2 or 3 replies to an email by the time you got your one. For that, I love my BB.

Neuse he meant people with Alltel and a BB duh.......I have Sprint wdprice

Had mobile im on the samsung slider I had before I got the glimmer. It was free to download and use and you didn't have to leave it open to get messages. Alltel was supposedly gonna release mobile im for the glimmmer but I guess the touch screen threw a fork in it or they figured "we're gonna be verizon soon so fuck it."
