I actually think the next generation will be better off. All these kids coming up now are raised to be self involved to the point that they will be emotionally withholding from their children so their kids are going to have to fend for themselves and subsequently be better off for it.

I understand their value, but they are only worth the discipline the student puts into it. And most liberal arts majors are lazy, daddy's money, pot-smoking hippies who will proudly serve coffee and pizza until they learn a skill. Then they will manage those who serve coffee and pizza. They cut off my allowance when I was 12 and told me to cut grass, get a paper route, rake leaves, and shovel driveways if I needed money.

Sounds eerily familiar to how I grew up. My parents never actually paid me an allowance, they just paid me small amounts to do work around the house until I was 12-13 and then I started mowing yards and doing odd jobs for neighbors 'til I got my first real job at 15. I'll probably be very similar as a parent.

we came in 7th out of 8 teams at a basketball tournament in high school

they had some giant awards ceremony and we all got ribbons, ours were green for 7th

We had some serbian kid on our team who took the game way too seriously for someone who averaged 6 minutes and 2 points

As they officials were putting the ribbons on our necks, he blocks them from putting it on him and looks at the rest of us

Then he storms off and eventually withdrew from school like 2 days later

Last I heard he had been court martialed (or their equivalent) from the Serbian Army
