Yeah, but that number becomes obsolete when considering out of state tuition.

I wish we'd stop showing up in these things. Its like a big green light for the administration to raise tuition a little more.

I remember in 2003 when NCSU was the most affordable in the nation in some report.

oh yay we are the Walmart of universities golly gee how awesome

i think i'd rather have gone to a university that cared more about the students than numbers and state politics.

uh i really dont see how that applies. its a list of schools that "provide high-quality academics at a reasonable price." They didnt say it was the list of schools that "provide a decent education for a very low cost." Very big difference.

Having quality academics at a school with a very high value / cost ratio is a GOOD thing.

We do both have equally disappointing sports departments.

The ranking is definitely a good thing though

i meant the ranking, not the price--besides ncsu is still the second most expensive public school in nc after unc

HUR has a good point.

NCSU let that racist backwoods shithead in.

It de-values the rest of our degrees.

given that they PAY you to go to any of the service academies, how can they not be numbers 1, 2, and 3

This list is a good thing for NCSU. Look at the other schools on that list, none of them suck and in fact a couple might even be considered prestigious.

Hahahaha, you unlucky bastards.

Get ready for 500 dollar increases in student fees and 800 dollar increases in tuition next year.

I've never seen a university try as hard as NC State does to get themselves off this list.

If I want a value I go to fucking Walmart. Being labelled as the "value" university can not look good for those applying for a job.

Here is the yahoo finance write up.

One thing I wonder about is when they talk about graduation rates do they consider co-op programs? I wonder how much that brings down our 4-year graduation rate.

I doubt it does include co-op. I graduated 5 years and a summer session.

I thought though that the "benchmark" was 6-year graduation rate.

harvard is number 2 value private college so i think you're misunderstanding what value means
you're confusing value with cheap, value is price relative to what you're getting for it
like tww is free, but its not a good value
on the other hand if you but a rolls royce for 10 grand thats a good value, you wouldnt think less of the car though
