only ever been in one wreck

a late 70s cadillac with a 16 year old girl driving hit my dad in a 50th anniversary corvette coupe, I was following behind him, and she ran me off the road in order to avoid a head on collision

ran through a field, and a power line pole support wire ran into the engine bay, spinning the car around for my like 8 month old acura

the force knocked the transformer off the pole other side of the street (connected by wire over the road

it worked out ok, b/c if i had slid another 30 yards there was a barn that i'd have hit instead

they "kept finding more things wrong" and the total cost was well beyond totalled but they had already done like half the work prior to comming to this realization

kinda a bummer for the first new car you've ever bought totally on your own

no real residual effect though, if you drove it you wouldnt be able to tell

ha, my mom backed into the back of it with her honda accord trying to miss a little tree. my exhaust left holes in her bumper. had someone hit it and do $3k bucks worh of damage sophomore year while I was taking a physics test. And idiot hit it in an advance parking lot.

An old as fuck woman totaled a car for me when I was 16. This was in 2001 I was driving a 2000 Dodge Intrepid. I had a green arrow to turn left. She ran her red light. BAM head on collision and the end of that car. Still, to this day, my only accident.

92 Dodge Spirit-

Head on collision with a Chevy Silverado. I got slammed so hard that my car was shoved under the front bumber of the Forf F-150 behind me. Cop said that if I hadn't ducked to avoid the airbag, the hood caving in probably would have killed me.

'99 Grand Am-

Got rear ended by a Ford Ranger on Clark Ave. Crumpled the rear end completely. That one could have been a lot worse. That was also the first accident I had been in where I had a passenger- thank God no injuries.

I balled up my '91 Maxima. Crested a hill on wet pavement, and there was a truck stopped in the middle of the road. Couldn't stop. By the time I could get my door open and get out (took a minute), the truck was gone (I never saw it--no forward visibility, due to the hood being buckled so high). They fled the scene, witnesses saw them pull into a parking lot a few miles down the road and hop into a van with someone else driving, then drive away, abandoning the truck.

I blew the engine on my current vehicle (2005 Tribute). That wasn't exactly a cheap fix.


I hit a deer in my Tacoma several years ago and caused $5k worth of damage.


Never actually totalled a vehicle though, knock on wood.

This is the result of a dude in a Saturn Vue pulling out in front of me on Hillsborough from the University Club one night in 2006. I didn't have enough time to avoid him completely. You're looking at $8k of damage on a car worth about $5k at the time ('96 Lincoln Mark VIII).



Great car up until then, I miss it sometimes. Thankfully no injuries, and that is the only serious accident I've ever been in. (a few fender-benders but those don't count)

do they ever NOT do this shit? i've seen it happen at least 5 times to family/friends. the bad part is there's usually one quote that's actually right and shows most of what is really wrong and if they'd just listen to that one they'd know to total it..but instead they try to use the cheap ass one and get screwed in the end and screw the owner really

95 mustang...hit a dear on 64 at 80mph (wasn't totaled, just needed a new quarter panel)
