If a 4 yr old laptop is plugged in for power 98% of the time and all of a sudden it dies without rhyme or reason, no lights on not even the plugged in one, won't turn on.........it's most likely the battery right?

no - if it's plugged in and not working it's clearly not the battery.if you dont believe me, take the battery out and leave it plugged in and it still will not work

this happened to me sorta recentlyi bought a replacement AC adapter and it works nowmy battery indicator just drained and drained while it was plugged in and said i had 5 minutes to livewhen i really only had like 1 lol
