They always feel so cliche after writing them. I wish companies didn't want them at all

You'll get better as time goes on. Then you'll realize how depressed you are that you've become such an expert at writing cover letters because companies are getting a fuck ton of resumes for each open position.

Oh well...

OMG I hate this too.

I never know what to say.

I'll probably end up getting a job at McDonalds anyways with the way the economy is going.

Just wrote two more, have one in an envelope to send out, submitted the other online.

Yeah this is a blast. I just have a base cover letter that I'm modifying for each letter. My experience section doesn't change much because the experience I have is pretty relevant to most engineering jobs I'd apply to. Just gotta adjust the start and end paragraphs so it is appropriate for the company you're applying to.

Ah... I wish turnaround time was faster on these and that my boss gave warning that I needed to find a new job before the holiday season came up. Job listings were pretty stagnant until after christmas. :/

I sent the letter to my HR friend and she said it sounds good. That makes me a little more confident

need some quick help. what should you put in your cover letter to let a company know that even though you seem overqualified that 1. pay is not your top concern 2. you want to work also for more experience.

?
