that I can borrow in a couple of weeks?

I am trying to adopt a dog and they request that I crate my cat when they bring the dog over for the home inspection so that she is "safe" in case the dog doesn't like her.

she has never been crated before and i'm not buying a crate just to keep her in that one day...

just let me know if you can help

That's pretty lame My cats now are BFFs but when we first introduced them to each other there was fighting for a solid week. I can't imagine many animals getting along right away.

it's not so much about them not getting along as it is about the dog actually, literally eating the cat

mac used to do that if i was an ass and didnt walk her properly

or go to the dog park like 2-3 times a week

she's gotten old quick though and now just sleeps allt he time

although yesterday she did a thing where she turns in a circle really fast while not going anywhere or chasing anything

so we played rope tug of war for like 5 minutes and she was pewped again

The dog park will wear Trix out for a good 4-5 hours then she's even more hyper than before

It's a never ending cycle with this dog.

you're not going to get one with a young husky

you'll get the exact opposite

one of the most O_O things mac ever did was during one of her laps episodes when she was younger,, i was sitting on the couch watching tv, she was ballin around then ran up the stairs, down the stairs, behind the couch and high jumped over the back of the couch but somehow like planted and landed in the sitting position on the couch beside me without distrubing anything

just looked at me panting with crazy eyes

scared the piss out of me

hahaha....

my dad was amazed at her ability to not fuck things up

we were wrapping christmas presents for the nieces and nephews and had shit everywhere....like piles of toys for about 12 kids...

she paced in and out and around and over the piles for a solid 2 hours and never once stepped on a single thing or tried to make any of the stuff her own...

same thing christmas morning....piles of stuff and wrapping paper everywhere....she was right in the middle of it and never bothered a thing...

but she did go get her toy and bring it in the room where all the rest of us were because we were all playing with our new stuff and she didn't want to feel left out

Hahahah I love the crazy eyes as scary as they are.

I have to literally grab Trixie and make her stop sometimes lol. Her face reminds me of the [FAIL] picture of the dog missing the ball in the air. Too funny.

i also don't want an ugly dog

my neighbor has a greyhound and i see her walking it in the mornings and it looks like the thing might just lay down in the middle of the road any minute...

that would annoy me more than one i have to keep up with

I have a crate. Hell, I don't know where I put the damned thing.

My better half is heading to little Washington this morning to see about a labradoodle. And we have 3 cats. I'm kind of interested to see how this is going to work out. Or rather, I'm praying that this works out.

As annoying as the ordeal may be, I think crating the cat and making sure they get along is essential for the rescue. We got a rescue dog awhile back, they said he got along great with other animals and kids, a month later our cat was mauled. The extra effort is worth it.

yeah...they definitely don't want anything terrible to happen and i appreciate that

the cat isn't going to like any animal that i bring into the house but it would be nice if the dog doesn't try to eat her
