I used to work for a car wash and my hands would get so dry in the winter that they would crack and bleed. Nothing worked until my grandmother gave me her sample tube of GoldBond Ultimate Healing.

This lotion is very thick and I would put it on before bed and my hands healed up in a week and stayed healed for the rest of winter with occasional use.

the eucerin hand creme (not lotion) is awesome. it's really strong.

lotion can actually make the skin worse in the long run, but the creme will help

goldbond always stings me because i've scratched so much i guess it is raw. i like lubiderm or whatever.

but my fav is just the aveeno oatmeal kind (for everyday). but it isn't a permanent fix.

they make like hand salve stuff. udder cream is good, too. or mane n tail. but these are prob too thick to use every day.

My hands were really dry last time I was at my mom's and she has that udderly smooth stuff...I used it most everyday when I was home and it was a good everyday lotion. At my house I have a big container of Clinique Moisturizer and I love it for my face and hands.

udderly smooth never worked well for me, even before my hands got bad. IMO, it's the 'I'm too cheap to pay for bag balm right now' choice.
bag balm is good, but I like the neutrogena hand cream best. It's worked best for me out of everything I've tried. Different stuff for different folks. Bag balm is kind of $$$ though.

Sounds like at this point, you need to give up lotion, and use the hand creams.

$5
There's a quick-absorb formula that's not as good.
Back in december, my hands were so dry they were burning all the time. Within a week, I had them completely healed with this stuff

Wear gloves or socks after you put on the lotion to hold it in...

cetaphil hand cream.

it's hands down the best stuff for people with dry skin.

i guess that's why it's like $8 a tube.
