every time i see them on tv, i start thinking about how i'll be watching tv in 10 years and see about how the chemical gel on those things eats teeth up

what's the price?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000067E30 - 56 strips (i guess 28 days, 1 month) = about 20 bucks. i guess its not an economical thing anyway, if you can afford white strips, you can afford pretty good dental, at least preventative and cosmetic cleanings every 6 months or so.

dentist hits you up every 6 months or every year... doi it yourself cleaning with that crap would be like 120 bucks per 6 months, 240 per year. it doesnt make sense. i know its not better, and it can't be any more economical than going to the dentist. even if you have the worst or no insurance ever...

do people mainly use that stuff to just keep their grillz shiny between dentist trips?

i'd imagine most dentists would kick your ass for letting that nasty stuff soak in your mouth.

what am i missing?

i'm also scared of that TARGON smoker mouthwash too. since i quit smoking, ive been tempted to enroll my teeth in the KKK

they dont tear your teeth up, they just don't work

I tried them since my teeth were less then shimmering after years of coffee and cigs (and I'm only 24 !)

they didn't do shit, but a simple trip to the dentist for one of those trays and bleach kits and my chompers are as good as new

and I don't smoke or drink coffee anymore, so that helps

I always was told not to use them if your teeth are already sensitive. I am afraid my teeth enamel is too thin.

they definitely work(on most people), usually pretty darn well too. But yes if you have sensitive teeth it might not be a good idea

yeah thats what im hoping someone will EXPLAIN

i guess itd be more like bleaching coffee or nicotine stains or something. i dunno, im cool with my normal cleaning routine and dont know the fancy kinds

but this coupon got me thinking, i tried a box of whitestrips once. dated a chick who was self conscious about tar on my teeth from smoking. it always felt weird.

anyone else think its gonna hurt people in the long run?

I have to disagree with this statement. They do, in fact work, especially if you have considerable yellowing due to tobacco/coffee. I noticed a VERY considerable amount of whitening when I used them last.

i also noticed that that TARGON crap once a week kept down tar staining. but im sure thats bad for ya too

now i notice that not smoking is the best white pwr ever

I did a full round of crest white strips pretty religously (I got them for free), honestly I still missed some though. I think you wear them twice a day, and I would usually get it atleast once a day.

anyways my teeth looked pretty good when I was done, white but not fake white (they were decently white to begin with, but yellow enough that I was like yeah let me try that)

Id say I have kinda sensitive gums and the only wierd experience I had was when I slapped those strips one night partly on my gums and that shit started stinging the hell out of me.

that and If i remember right you arent supposed to brush your teeth after you take the strips off but it leaves this wierd glue residue on your teeth so brushing is a must.

basically I didnt follow the directions except to wear them frequently, and other than the weird gum experience, I was happy with the results.

Just got off the phone with my mama and happened to see this thread while talking to her (who is a dentist): She said really the only strips that work are Crest Whitening Strips. As far as personal bleaching kits, Dr. George's is the best. I have some actually and are good, even though the taste is kinda bad. But nothing is as good as going in to get them professionally done...they will just cost you $Texas.

(basically what everyone is saying up here...but Crest White strips actually do work).
