i have this same static electricity problem. every time my dog comes anywhere near me he shocks both of us. i have considered a humidifier, but I am lazy

i would get one if i knew it would workbut damn if it only reduces the shocks by like 50% it wont be worth itjunk pisses me off

i had one cause my ex-gf needed it for her allergies or some shit (i don't really know exactly, it was just one part of about $350 worth of anti-allergy upgrades i had to make to my room)i liked it cause my nose wasn't all dry when i woke up in the morning after running the heat a lot

if you have your laundry room in a central location you can get one of those things that vents your hot dryer air into a bowl of water and warms and humidifies your place. plus your house smells like clean linen

mehim leaving here in April anywayi just wanna know if these humidifiers will stop my bed comforter from generating 1.21 jigawatts of static shock from just taking it off the bed

A housekeeper I hired one time sprayed diluted Downy out of a mist bottle on the carpets. She told me that if you mist your carpets every once in a while it will reduce static and keep your place smelling fresh.

i should have titled the thread "anything but humidifiers"

whatever you do, don't combat the problem with a dehumidifier
