Has anyone seen this show? I watched one episode about a giant lizard in the Australian rain forest that ate a guy that was trying to do a "survivorman" type show. That shit was crazy, but I'm not sure if it was real. It never said what was being shown was a dramatization and they said the guy was never found, just his video footage. I'm thinking it is real.

you kiddin' me?they let it be known multiple times that it is fake as hell.

^^^haha yes, my feelings exactlyThat lost tapes show seems totally fake to me. I watched the lizard one and part of some other one about a yeti... in the yeti one you could really tell it was fake because she had these fake webcasts she was 'recording' but then they show a shot of her recording them from outside the cabin (and no i don't think it is like survivorman where she bothered to set up a camera shooting through the window).also she had on a ton of makeup which really doesn't seem believeable to me for a park ranger on stakeout for black bear poaching. after that i decided it was fake and couldn't watch anymore.[Edited on January 23, 2009 at 10:57 AM. Man Vs. Wild is fake, so what's the difference?

Yeah I thought the bigfoot one was pretty suspect too.

^^Bear doesn't go around finding mythological creatures.
1/23/2009 11:09:46 AM
definitely fake...I found a list of actors for the show...gg Animal Planet.
1/23/2009 11:10:21 AM
^^ nah, he just stays in a hotel every night and makes it appear that he is actually trying to survive

Bear is a stunt-man with a survival show.this Lost Tapes show is just completely bogus (guy gets eaten by giant, ancient komodo dragon thing, tapes are then discovered...)

You guys hate on Bear. Who gives a fuck if he stays in a holiday inn in the artic circle once in a while? Still a good show with lots of informative techniques. I will always tune in.

agreed. plus he was in the British Military's version of the Navy Seals, so he is pretty much badass regardless. just saying, if you want to watch a real survival show, check out my man Les on Survivorman.
1/23/2009 11:23:33 AM
survivorman just kind of sits there the whole time.. at least Bear has someone there to save his ass if he fucks up..so he does a lot more cool/ballsy shit
1/23/2009 11:25:19 AM
hence making it less realistic

It seems like Bear is trying to one up himself on doing stupid shit this season. I guess he wants to shed his non-badass image for a more badass one.Thinking back to the last couple of episodes...- I know hiking through the jungle is slow, but why the fuck would anyone enter an underground cave river? As the cave got smaller and smaller I started to cringe just watching him. Then he gets to a point of no return. The water is flowing downstream making it difficult or impossible to turn back. The cave begins to run underwater only, but he can see light; so he and the camera guy swim for the light. That's how you kill yourself and your camera guy.- You find an abandoned gold mine in Canada. Do you:a. Walk down the hill to the mining camp and railroad tracks.b. Build a crappy torch and enter deep enough into the mine that the torch fails from lack of oxygen. Continue going deeper until you feel a breeze, and follow the breeze until you see a spec of daylight? Follow daylight to the mine's exit at the bottom of the hill that you could have just walked down?
