that logs all the connections using my network, and shows me all the places they look around on the internet and takes passwords and shit.

my brother used to have a program and showed it to me before, but i don't think he still has the program and he's in boot camp right now anyway. anyone know where i can get one fo free?

I think ethereal has a network monitor that writes the raw data to screen pages at a time. It's funny to watch AIM conversations. People need to get that junk encrypted...

the one i was thinking about would allow me to view the exact pages the other people on the network were viewing

i'm trying to play around with wireshark, but so far no success

my brother had told me they taught him how to use it at state?

What kind of network and what are you intending to do? There's a ton of shit for logging and sniffing.

Where exactly are you sniffing with wireshark?

If you're just sniffing your own ethernet port, you're not going to see much of anything that other people are doing.

you either have to have a switch capable of port mirroring, or put a hub between your router and cable modem, and connect your PC to it and then sniff.

i've tried to get it to capture from my router, but i haven't had much success. It'll let me capture shit going out of my own ethernet port, but it doesn't appear to let me capture anything wireless?

nevermind i've got it capturing all my shit now
