I was recently woken up in the middle of the night by my neighbor who had apparently drank too much and started throwing up everywhere. At this point, it seems like the standard "I drank too much sickness" and so I waited for him to finish up and go back inside. The sick guy, however, insist that he is dying and so decides to call a guy for a cocaine drop off because it is a "life or death" situation. Now that he sort of has my attention as I move from being pissed to laughing at him for getting so dramatic, he shouts over the phone that he will give the dealer fifty for a G. Now, I am assuming that he means grams, $50 for a gram.

This just seems interesting to me because in the novel American Psycho, cocaine cost them about the same price but the book takes place in the late '80s to early '90s.

So, just out of curiosity, I was wondering how much a gram of cocaine cost these days.

which could be as much as 75 or so for a single gram these days depending on a lot of things, including your location. I believe you are located in texas, right? stuff will be cheaper there than remote cities.



like a lot of things, drugs are always cheaper if you buy in bulk. your neighbor was probably pissed at middle of the night inflation, where the dealer has probably sold most of his stock for the evening and would be cutting into his own supply to hook it up.

^It's kinda like weed, quality is everything.

Crappy weed can be as low as $50/ounce, but the good stuff is more in line to $10-25/gram.

Also with the shrooms you have dry and wet weights. When it dries it could lose 50% or more of the weight.

it's more like 85-90% of the wet weight. there aren't really any controllable factors that influence the potency -- possibly the addition of psilocybin precursors into the substrate, but this is a questionable and relatively unknown technique -- nor is there any way to objectively determine the potency without resorting to like gas chromotagraphy

fresh wet mushrooms are the only way to insure elevated potency, and even then you have something like 48 hours before the more potent psilocin oxidizes into inactives

you wouldn't catch my goldfish paying $20/gram for fungus, and he's something of a connisseur of fine psychedelics
