tvs have dropped to 20% off msrp on lcd and 25% on plasmas. lcds are now a ok- good deal where as the plasmas are pretty good deals i.e. 50pna550 for 1499 = only $80>amazon

cds/dvds/blurays are now 25%off

all car audio and mobile accesories are 40% off now. great deals on dynamatt harnesses even authorized kicker/mtx stuff. gps is 20% off

games are 20% off and accesories are 30% off! dual shock ps3 controllers for 38$

ps3s are 20% off making them$319!
ipods are also 20% off now

tvstands are a healthy 40% off if you need one.
get it while you can !

Maybe I'll stop by Saturday and look for an obscure game that I've always wanted to play. I know all the big titles are already gone.

So this is like 5-7% off what CC prices were before liquidation started?

I went in the first week of this, and all their televisions were priced 20-40% HIGHER than they were during black friday. I wouldn't touch anything in the store for less than 50% off MSRP, since there are NO RETURNS.

I don't know about ANYTHING but TVs would be a little worrisome. i would buy some pc crap, a camera, smaller store stuff. anything that could be shipped back to the manufacturer without too much effort. but really how often does new stuff take a dump in the first 30-60 days anyway.

why? as long as you aren't buying visio, most offer 1 year of in home service.

What is amazing is how many stupid fucks bought shit at basically no discount the first week... Infact I went in the second day to look at a GPS... didn't decide on anything as there was not one person to help me get one out of the case... Came back the next day and they had raised the prices about $50 bucks on each GPS... I guess that way they can "discount" them more.

first understand no one jacks up prices. when cc goes away so do our discounts so everything returns to msrp and the liqudiation starts from there. there's no smoke and mirrors .i too couldn't beleive the numbers of iddiots in here buying tvs for more than our cc prices were weeks ago.

pretty much any major name brand of tvs will do inhome service on 32" and larger tvs. samsung/sony/panasonic wouldn't make u ship a 52" tv they dispatch someone from the service center and they come repair the tv. depending on the issue though they may transport the tv back to the service center.

update
ps3s are sold out
we just got a fair sized shipment of newer games in
tv stands are 30% off my mistake

circuit city closing forever feels like breaking up with a girl i always cheated on

its like, she was never my first choice, but some of my biggest memories happened with her

i almost always did circuit city for black friday - shorter lines >.<
i bought my first real camera at a circuit city (old canon rebel 2000)
i bought my first "big boy" TV at circuit city (open box sony trinitron, freshman year of college)
i bought my first big screen tv at circuit city (akai 42" on black friday 2004)
i bought my ps2 at circuit city
i bought my best car stereos at circuit city
i could go on and on

sure, best buy was where i went for all the little shit
but if i was spending more than $150, i was probably going to go to circuit city...

A liquidation company now owns all of the CC merchandise... Its bs in the sense that circuit city probably sold all of the merchandise to that company for 50% of what they paid for it... maybe? But the Liquidation company is the one that is jacking the prices back up and then doling out price cuts.

considering PS3s and iPods pretty much NEVER go on sale, those things are an excellent buy at these prices.

^^bullshit. You could have gotten an 80gb PS3 through sonystyle.com for $250 bucks this holiday season.

And iPods do go on ~10% off sales fairly regularly between Amazon and MacMall.

that PS3 deal required you to sign up for a Sony Credit card, and then buy X amount of dollars worth with the card in the fist x months.

They have a similar if not the same deal going on right now:

1) Fill out the form to get the Sony credit card.
2) Get the card in the mail about a week later ( if approved ).
3) Go to sonystyle.com and buy a Playstation 3 using the new card. 80gb or 160gb models are both available.
4) Upon purchasing the Playstation 3, you get $100 credit on your card. ( it says within 8 to 12 weeks )
5) In the first 3 months, you have to charge $1500 bucks to the card on any normal purchases at any store. If you hit that mark, they credit another $100 back to your card. ( 8 to 12 weeks )
6) By the end of 6 months, if you have charged a total of $3000, you get another credit for $100 back your card. ( 8 to 12 weeks )

It's free shipping, so the total ends up being $426.99 - $300 = $126.99 for a PS3 ( 80 gb model )

all of these prices still suck. subtract 10-15% from those discounts, as the liquidators jacked up the prices, then discounted them,

ill start to look when everything is 50-70%

50" Panasonic Plasma 720p was $999 at Christmas. I got it for $799 thru price match in October 2008!!

Went to store off capital blvd last night. Same TV is now $1050.

^depends on what you are buying.
If people are stupid, let the liquidation company rape them.
If you know what you want, and what it should cost, then there shouldn't be any problems.
