I'm watching on tv, and it is really pissing me off.

Protestant weddings and funerals always piss me off.

No offense to those of you who follow it, but they put so much emphasis on Jesus and very little on the person we're supposed to be remembering and honoring. Having a 100-person choir singing to Christ followed by applause is just unnecessary and takes away from the purpose.

Other than the actual eulogy, there's so few things said about Kay's life.

I'm mad at the people who spoke towards the beginning. I like the guy talking now, its really about her now. But before it was Jesus this and Christ that and I felt like i was watching Jesus' funeral, not Kay's.

I want an all black female choir singing soulful hymms; of all funerals ive ever seen, those seem to be the most "filling" in sincerity.



on a side note, the most touching thing ive seen at a funeral was some dude ripping out a lock of his hair and laying it on the casket (youtube, funeral of some soldier that jumped on a grenade to protect his comrad(s).)

When my Grandfather emigrated from Poland he was Catholic and remained that way through the war. He met my grandmother on a train. Some time later when they went to get married the Catholic pastor on the base would let them get married because she wasn't Catholic. So they went across the hall to the Presbyterian minister and said he would marry them. They remained Presbyterians ever since.

JOKE: What's the difference between Methodists and Baptists? Methodists will say "Hi" to each other in the liquor store.

My dad was Methodist and we've been going to a Methodist church for as long as I can remember but I've been to a couple Presbyterian services before. So far the only difference I've noticed is during the "Lord's Prayer" Methodists say trespasses and trespassers and Presbyterians say debts and debtors. I know that anyone, ANYONE, can take communion at a Methodist church no matter who you are or what your religion is (if any).

It's a gathering of religious christians in teh south. It is absolutely necessary to have a church service when there are more than 10 non-related baptists/methodists/whathaveyou gathered together.

Did you not pay jack shit attention to the funeral? Yow WANTED the funeral to be that way. She said herself that she wants nothing more than for as many people to go to heaven as possible. I went to the funeral and it was absolutely beautiful.

You make a thread about the funeral and all you do is bitch. Not remark about how there were over 1,000 people there - which speaks volumes about her. Not about supporting the team through this difficult time. Instead, you bitch about the way she planned her funeral...She would want nothing more than for it to be Christ centered, but you must not know enough about her to know that.

I've been to probably 20 funerals, and a lot of them have been true "celebrations of life" though that does sound trite. Honestly, I've been to some weddings that had a sadder feel than a lot of funerals I have been to.
