Anyone know of a program similar to magicISO that will mount a file ~3gb (something free)

sudo mount -t iso9660 -o loop /location/of/iso /location/where/you/want/it/mounted

Also WinRar will work nicely if all you're trying to do is extract the contents.

Is Daemon Tools still the best utility of this sort? I've heard that newer version contain spy/ad-ware. I don't have any evidence to back up this claim, it's just what I've heard.

i've never heard that either. i've used it in the last couple weeks and never had any problems

I think by default, Daemon tools tries to install some sort of toolbar type shit (at least it has in the past, I dunno about recently) but it's something that you can easily uncheck. I've used some version of Daemon tools for the past 3-4 years and never had any problems that I was aware of.

that's good to hear. i guess what i remember seeing was the junk you have to uncheck at install.
