over the years there have been some cool murals in the tunnel, even small stuff, doesnt have to be huge. anyone got any pics? like, does anyone remember that super mario tunnel from forever ago?

the design and cutting of stencils takes a lot of work

and the walls of the free expression tunnel are craggy and rough--not an ideal surface for stenciling. you get a lot of under/overspray if you're not careful about it.

at one point Jere and i were planning a stencil that was gonna be something like 25 square feet. that shit was ridiculously ambitious.

^yea, it's partially cut. we printed out all the layers and it was 100 sheets of paper we were going to stitch together and cut.

I've never understood the hate towards stencils. It's not like people go out and buy stencils from the fucking craft store.

Every stencil I've made required many hours of selecting or drawing source images, combining images in a clever way and processing them in photoshop/gimp (sometimes going over every cut with the pen tool), and time alone with my exacto knife doing mind numbinlgy meticulous cutting(sometimes nearly 10 hours). I mean, if today you write a book, you're not expected to have monks transcribe the shit.
