Short version:

I can take a full-expenses paid trip to Baltimore, but only get networking out of it for next summer. I lose nearly nothing. Should I go?

Long version:
A friend of mine works with the IAESTE, an organization that works to get NCSU students international internships. I want to get an international internship, but its too late to get a job this summer for me because registration closed three weeks ago.

A person who paid for the trip dropped, so I could take their slot and not have to pay for anything. My car would be leaving tomorrow night and I would be skipping one useless class on Friday. Although I won't get an internship out of this trip, it would provide networking and familiarity for next summer and get me into the club's system.

Should I go anyway?

Well, basically the reasons I wouldn't go would be to attend a practice Thursday night and some arbitrary weekend plans...plus I'm fairly resistant to taking road trips.

Turns out that I can indeed apply to the internships, I just have a lower chance of getting in since I'll be in the second round of applications. I did think about the merits of going with only networking and figured it was worth it anyway.
