Quote :
" Scientists in Colombia have unearthed the remains of a true prehistoric monster believed to be the biggest snake ever to have lived on Earth.

Named Titanoboa cerrejonensis, the snake would have weighed 1,140 kilograms (2,500 pounds) and measured 13 meters (42.7 feet) nose to tail tip -- dwarfing the largest modern pythons and anacondas which can grow to 6 meters (19.5 feet). "

except that the largest recorded reticulated python was more than 32 feet long...and retics regularly achieve lengths of 25 feet or more

I'm actually more scared of the smaller quicker 6-8 foot ones

those are the ones you don't see coming till its too late

With a 25 foot fuck, i could hear him coming from miles away, tearing down trees like the monster from lost

It didn't say anacondas were the longest snakes, but they are the biggest. This snake was long AND big, reticulated pythons are long, but aren't as bulky, or big, as anacondas.

^ go back and read what the person wrote:

that statement clearly speaks to length and clearly states (incorrectly, of course) that the "largest modern pythons" grow to 19.5 feet...where am i wrong in what i said?

Sure, it's confusing grammar, but it isn't incorrect. The fossil dwarfs modern pythons and anacondas and anacondas grow to around 6 meters.
