I can understand your being upset over acts of student stupidity lessening the value of your degree by association, but how would his getting a degree lesson the value of anyone else's degree? The poor judgement he made by deciding to take this particular risk (illegal drugs) may have no impact on his ability to study and learn his major -- "common sense" and book smarts are very different.
