3.6L V6 50k miles.

Didn't do anything different this time other than using new oil, Extended Protection Mobil 1 5w30.

Put in 6 quarts.

Will not idle, stumbles at bit and shuts down.

There is no way I overfilled it right? The stick is right at level. Any suggestions?

Did it lose oil pressure? Do I just need to drive it around for a while?

I don't believe so. Ah, I also changed the air filter. I'll check that.

check the iat and maf sensors, plugs, and hoses around the airbox, also check the intake boot, by changing the filter on those, they will come loose from the throttle body, and suck in air behind the maf

The clamp was loose and it fell off and I didn't notice till I had stared at it for a min. I'm a moron.

[Edited on February 7, 2009 at 7:56 PM. Reason : also the airbox design is not so good.]

I'm glad I put it out there. I appreciate your help. WTF is up with that design? Also the boot is cracked (where it slipped off) and needs to be replaced.

Know where I can get a replacement cheaper than the dealer? I have no idea what the part number is.

Good call on the boot.

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com

[Edited on February 8, 2009 at 2:12 PM. Reason : if it is a small crack, i would clean it good with alchohol, then put some silicone on it]

gmpartsdirect.com awesome.

from taking it off this morning. it's a small crack around the rubber collar where it meets the plastic L connecting it to the throttle body. makes it a little loose if you wiggle it around. i tightened the clamp that holds it on, so it's good for now/better than before. i'll silicone it when i get a chance to keep the break/tear from spreading.

must be from the dealership people checking the air filter (i hope it's not from iffy lube). it shouldn't be cracking on an 05 model, that's just poor quality, unless idiots loosened it from checking the air filter and pushed it back on without loosening the clamp first.

no need for a new duct then, for $70.

you really should take the whole damn thing off to check the filter, pulling it up with everything attached stresses all the connections, and leads to shoving the air filter in and it doesnt seal well to the housing
