I have recovery discs made for you and your Legit upgrade Vista Home premium 32 bit Disc and HP driver support disc for Vista.

Refurbished this particular version goes for about $850. If you can find a comparable laptop of the same quality and specs we possibly can work something out. I bought it in November 2007 so its just over a year old. It also has a remote control to it as well. Its a great movie viewing machine.

Keys differences are:

Mine has 17" screen that is 15.4"
Mine has a remote that one doesn't
Mine has a numerical key pad to the right of the keypad that one doesn't.
Mine is a Pavilion which is better quality that Compaq.
Mine has a mouse on that has an on-off button, and soft touch media controls.
Mine has built in webcam/mic that one doesn't.
Mine has 1440x900 resolution that one has 1280x800.
Your laptop 'supports' up to 8gb RAM which requires 64 bit OS.
Mine has more slots and can read SD cards.
Mine has a 8-cell battery that one has a 6-cell battery.

I probably could find more but by now you see there is a difference.

FYI, for the average user 8gb RAM is a overkill.

Not to trying to thread crap, but your price is high for TWW. You can probably get that or close to it on Craigslist though...I'd bump up the RAM first though, it's pretty light. And yeah the 2GB max is a deal-breaker for most heavy PC users

I can buy your computer (new) for 700, with warranty, with a bigger HD. Why would I buy yours for any more than 450?

I really appreciate the interest enough to post comparable laptops, and that what I wanted, but you all apparently missed the part where I said if you can find a comparable laptop then we can work something out if you are interested. Do you guys know anything about marketing? Also I did not look up the price for the laptop, so I just threw a round-about figure out there so things like this would be posted so we can put the price point of the laptop in prospective relative to the current market rate. $450 is to low, but probably not far from what its worth. Thanks for helping this thread guys, but just remember that marketing is always an illusion and/or has other purposes, such as getting you smart people to hunt down comparable products so I can get a price-point for my laptop in prospective Now, anybody out there want to negotiate?

Not to be a douchenugget, but HP and Compaq are the same company and share technology. One company's product is very similar if not identical to the quality of the other.

The only deal breakers I see are the screen size, webcam, and maybe the battery (which is used now, compared to a new one). I don't think the average person is going to miss a remote control, an on/off button for the touchpad, soft-touch controls and a numeric keypad. Taking away the keypad allows a smaller portable laptop and thus a 15.4" screen. Yes and as mentioned earlier, its HP/Compaq, the same company (eventhough I have a Pavilion myself, I don't think this particular model is LESS quality). Yes, you need a 64-bit OS to utilize 8GB of memory, but isn't that with all computers? The fact is that you have the capacity to do so with this PC, unlike the one you're selling which maxes out at 2GB (and you only have 1GB installed). It also does have a media reader in the rear of the laptop, which does in fact read SD cards.

1.6ghz<2.0ghz
1GB RAM<2GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150<ATI Radeon HD 3200
80GB HD<250GB HD

^These are key things that people are looking for, which all surpass yours for brand new for cheaper. I wasn't trying to be a dick, I just hate people overcharging on products (and I resell and refurb a shitload of PCs). I think we all know are fair share about marketing around here, but what do you mean $450 is too low but not far from what its worth? If you put 2GB of RAM and upgraded the HD, you could sell it for $450. The point is you have plenty of people that know they can buy a computer better than your old one for cheaper with a brand new warranty. Unfortunately this is called Moore's Law.

Thanks for the help with the price point. $100+taxes+shipping cost is worth 3 months of warranty, so $500 takes it.

The only thing here that is relevant to the average user is the HD size, and 80gb is a pretty decent amount for the average person. The other stuff is only noticeable if you are into gaming and this is not a gaming machine, so you will most likely not notice any performance boost.
