Teddy got shot while giving a speech. Teddy pulled out a handkerchief and covered his wound and finished his speech for another 2 hours (or so). He then got on his horse and rode to see a doctor.

BADASS

Quote :
"While Roosevelt was campaigning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 14, 1912, a saloonkeeper named John Schrank shot him, but the bullet lodged in his chest only after penetrating both his steel eyeglass case and passing through a thick (50 pages) single-folded copy of the speech he was carrying in his jacket.[89] Roosevelt, as an experienced hunter and anatomist, correctly concluded that since he wasn't coughing blood the bullet had not completely penetrated the chest wall to his lung, and so declined suggestions he go to the hospital immediately. Instead, he delivered his scheduled speech with blood seeping into his shirt.[90] He spoke for ninety minutes. His opening comments to the gathered crowd were, "Ladies and gentlemen, I don't know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot; but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose." [91] Afterwards, probes and X-ray showed that the bullet had traversed three inches (76 mm) of tissue and lodged in Roosevelt's chest muscle but did not penetrate the pleura, and it would be more dangerous to attempt to remove the bullet than to leave it in place. Roosevelt carried it with him for the rest of his life.[92]"

"Teddy Roosevelt was a badass of the people. Roosevelt received letters from army cavalrymen complaining about having to ride 25 miles a day for training and, in response, Teddy rode horseback for 100 miles, from sunrise to sunset, at 51 years old, effectively rescinding anyone's right to complain about anything, ever again.

Did we mention he had asthma growing up? He did, and after he beat asthma to death, he ate asthma's raw flesh and ran 100 straight miles off the energy it gave him. "

Teddy was cool. Franklin screwed the whole country when he used the depression to push the nation toward socialism.

I thought that recently, it had been raised that it might have not been polio that he had, but Guillan-Barré

FDR's immortalized quote: "December 7th is a date that will live in infamy."

Teddy's immortalized quote: "Speak softly and carry a big stick."

FDR was more eloquent in how he voiced his anger and despair. Teddy more or less said "I'mma fuck you up."

T.R. wasn't just what a president should be, he was an example of what -every- man should be. Experienced, self-reliant, knowledgeable, considerate, able and tungsten carbide fucking balls.

BULL MOOSE PARTY!!!!!!!!

Platform from wiki

The platform called for women's suffrage, recall of judicial decisions, easier amendment of the U.S. Constitution, social welfare legislation for women and children, workers' compensation, limited injunctions in strikes, farm relief, revision of banking to assure an elastic currency, required health insurance in industry, new inheritance taxes and income taxes, improvement of inland waterways, and limitation of naval armaments.

who won?

I have a feeling that if teddy had lost, he would have just beat the shit out of Obama. Then he would get on his horse and ride for 100 miles at 141 years old so that no one could whine about it
