He's not very nice.
Many have likened him to Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde

He's a total prick. No matter how much you've learned and done in life, he'll automatically assume that you're wrong and he's right, so he therefore is entitled to cut you off during what you are saying to interject his univeral truth. He was violent toward my sister and preferred me to her, ruining the relationship between her and me. He's an alcoholic and smokes heavily. He worked at as a top engineer at an engine plant for several years before he got fired, and since then hasn't tried to find work, he just sits around the house, drinking, smoking, talking at you and not to you. He's the kind of guy who'd look at the cuts on your arm and tell you to get over it.

For the past few years, his health has been declining, and he refused stubbornly to go to a doctor because he was too proud. He had several small strokes that nobody knew about except me, but I didn't know what they were and I just tried to help him best I could, and recently he had a major one.

But does his speech impediment stop him from interrupting my sister? Of course not.

Everyone loved my dad. He could hang with anyone, would do anything for you, and liked to party.

He was also an alcoholic who would drive drunk with his kids in the car and pass out while babysitting us. He didn't make it to his 32 birthday.
