old tranny is almost out, parts are ordered, now just waiting on the tranny guy and my slow ass

actually getting it in will be easy, making it work correctly will be something that will take a little bit of thinking i.e. time and pressure switches haha. then we'll drag son

WE'LL BE HAULING

HAULING ASS

...I had someone ask me what I intended to haul with the truck (after the back-half), I said to him, "haul some ass"

I'd rather hit the strip, but it's going to be a laughing matter if this goes down in 2009, as the twins are on hold due to funding issues

I'll drive the hell outta my shit tho, assuming i can get this RH to get my shifting in order... she likes to hang on waaaayyy too long with the 2-3 when the TC's locked

**BREAKING NEWS***

I HAVE LOCATED THE CAUSE OF MY TC LOCKUP PROBLEMS, A FUCKING SAGGING BRAKE PEDAL.

sagging because...? hole in booster diaphragm?

well, it wasnt "sagging" I would say, because there was no play in the pedal travel - but hooking my foot under it and pulling back against it yielded the proper shift/lockup operation. I honestly dont know it operates (switch/linkage), but whatever it is, I am going to give it a good adjustment.

i believe the problem is circled, you should have a ground on the white/pink wire on terminal 1 when the brake pedal is up

if it was my truck, i'd wire in a switch to manually control the lockup for when i wanted some engine braking in addition to the service brakes. you don't tow/haul with it though, so probably pointless.

not a good idea on those to bypass the ecm for tcc lockup directly unless you really understand how the tranny is controlled and pay close attention to it while you are driving, a couple hard 2-3 shifts under lockup is enough to destroy it

[Edited on February 21, 2009 at 1:57 PM. Reason : bypassing the brake light switch solely for engine braking however won't hurt much]

yeah, i was only talking about the brake switch that kicks it off. definitely not upshifting.

haha SHITTTTTTT

if either of you fuckers are lurking, I've had a manual TC lockup switch installed since the back-half procedure (via TS performance instructons, iirc. It's a switch tied into orange/black stripe wire #54 of the ECM, iirc as well, that when switched grounds the circuit - causing lockup. I've noticed it will not function when the brake pedal switch is functioning properly). I've also done more full throttle TC locked 2-3, 3-4 shifts than i can remember

don't be skurrred. i've been nursing a slipping 4r100 for the past 2 years. i can't turn up the tune at all hardly or it'll just sit on the redline at wot between shifts. plus i'll bet i outweigh you by a good 4k lbs. too.
